Best of the Holidays: Starbucks

Natalie Scholz, Correspondent

It is beginning to look a lot like Christmas, especially on the Starbucks beverage menu. The coffee shop chain announced its holiday drink menu early November to follow their annual holiday marketing. Holiday beverages are sold at any Starbucks location.

    4: Peppermint Mocha

The flavor selection is expected for this season, which makes this drink fairly unoriginal. But the taste is balanced–not too much coffee flavor, and just enough peppermint. It tastes sweet and minty with a twinge of bitterness. In all, the Peppermint Mocha tastes good but is not an original.

   3: Gingerbread Latte

The idea of this drink is a popular holiday flavor. The sweet taste is balanced with the coffee. The drink is sweet with the slight bitter flavor at the end. Starbucks made the Gingerbread Latte very well but the idea is not the most unique.

2: Christmas Tree Frappuccino.

The exterior of the drink is beautiful
a green base below a thick green whip and cranberries as the ornaments. This beverage takes second place because it is a beautiful drink with a unique idea. The taste is not everyone’s cup of tea and it’s very hard to finish. It has a thick consistency and tastes like mint ice cream.

    1: Caramel Brulée Latte.

The idea is the most original of all its  holiday drinks. It tastes like caramel and vanilla ice cream. Although it might not be a mainstream festive flavor, it is a filling drink, just likeThanksgiving or Christmas dinners and desserts.

Starbucks certainly has the holidays in mind with these special drinks! Don’t feel limited to just selecting off the year-round menuselect one of the amazing holiday drinks to ring in the holiday season!
