Column: George Santos is smarter than you

OnlyFans connoisseur, plastic surgery fanatic, drag queen, Jew-ish, but most importantly the greatest politician in modern American history. These are just a handful of descriptions for ex-U.S. representative George Santos, from New York’s third district.

Santos probably is one of the most covered politicians in the news. And what they will tell you that Santos is Congress’ corrupt crook. But what they won’t tell you is that he has reached the pinnacle of politics in the U.S. Santos has done the greatest 180 in the history of the world. Santos deserves to be studied alongside the likes of people like O.J. Simpson who have also profited from their failures.

In case you have missed it, Santos bent the truth (apparently a crime now) a few times and got kicked out of Congress, but that’s not the important part. What is important is what he did next. King Santos said, “Never back down and never give up,” and he went on to create a Cameo account, where he could get paid to send personalized video messages to fans.

Santos has been pumping out videos on the platform, currently charging $500 each. According to a (very) trustworthy source (that may  or may not be George Santos himself), he is making roughly $80,000 a day (and also that he made more than his congressional salary in a single week, but we are going to focus on the more interesting figure).

$80,000 a day.

That is almost half the amount he would make through his annual congressional salary of $174,000. That is over double the current median income in the U.S.

All in a single day.

Santos deserves to be studied. We the American people are watching the making of a new Kardashian, and it might be our fault.

What if I told you that this was his plan all along? What if I told you that we were all a pawn in HIS game? What if I told you Santos knows how to manipulate the media better than anyone else right now?

I suspect that Santos has been planning this since his first day in office in January. Since before he was even in Congress, he has been lying. Santos doesn’t speak English; he speaks in sound bytes, whether that be him denying he is not a Brazilian drag performer or pretending to be oblivious to what OnlyFans is. Every media outlet picked up on every second of it, and we all watched.

Santos didn’t actually ever care about being in office; he had no impact while he was there, outside of getting the two parties to agree on hating him. Once he was kicked out, it placed him in the optimal position to get that Cameo bag. He got a wave of free publicity and then immediatly makes the switch to Cameo. He is profiting off of everyone else’s gullibility.

Harvard is offering a new class that teaches about Taylor Swift and her impact, but what about a class George Santos? People need to put aside their barely warranted hatred for this infamous opportunist and acknowledge the truth: George Santos is smarter than you.
