Lulu’s REAL FroYo, named after the owner’s frozen yogurt-loving dog, features 25 flavors of nonfat yogurt as well as over 30 different topping choices that are regularly rotated out. Located in Aurora, Ill. at 1147 N. Eola Road, Lulu’s is yet another place available to purchase decent frozen yogurt.
The atmosphere of the shop was pleasant due to the friendly service and the layout was well set up for such a small space, but I felt as though Naperville Central students would mind the distance Lulu’s is from school. They could easily go someplace closer for froyo like Forever Yogurt or TCBY.
Frozen yogurt flavors at Lulu’s include peppermint, Italian cheesecake, salted caramel, cinnamon firecracker, pineapple sorbet, chocolate hazelnut and more. I give Lulu’s credit for having atypical flavors since most of the froyo shops around Central are very similar to each other, but I thought the frozen yogurt itself was mediocre. I would describe the froyo’s texture as lumpy, and the toppings bar was generic and small.
Overall, I didn’t think Lulu’s was worth the drive to Aurora. There are definitely better places Central students can go to get frozen yogurt that are closer and more satisfying to the taste buds.
