Hawk TV sponsored Central to Central Variety Show showcases student groups, supports activities program

On Thursday, Oct. 22, Hawk TV presented the Central to Central Variety Show which supports the Student Activities program at Naperville Central.

The show was hosted by Tyler Dillon, Zack Pradel, Anna Rose Redgate and Allison Giannone who provided commentary between acts and introduced all of the performers.

The shows began with a performance by the Orchesis dance team. Team member Emily Walgren said Central to Central was the first time the team had performed this dance. “It was nerve wrecking,” Walgren said.  “But we were well prepared and performed well.”

In addition to another performance by Orchesis later in the show, Dynasty step team and Korean pop dance group R41N performed routines. Four members of Urban Arts club also performed, as well as Merve Addemir who presented a lyrical dance solo.

The show provided a venue for multiple freshman vocalists to showcase their talents including Denise Sinadinos, Keasean Williams, and Shannon Piper, in addition to many other songs sung by talented students.

Emily Ashwell and Brianna Rowe provided entertainment before their performance by running onstage during each introduction. After multiple interruptions, they were finally recognized by the hosts who directed them to the microphone. They sang a duet with Ashwell on the guitar. She also performed “Reflections” from Mulan as a solo later in the show.

Female a cappella group Chorelles presented 12 students who performed “And So It Goes” by Billy Joel.

Before the final act, Hawk TV screened their annual parody video. The video was unfortunately cut short due to technical difficulties.

The final act was rock band Due Tomorrow. After their performance all the acts joined them onstage to enjoy an encore song.
