Naperville Central’s DECA chapter competed at the Rosemont Center on Friday, Jan. 24, with 91 members advancing to state.

In the dozens of events that DECA offers, 48 Central students placed in the top 10, with six fourth place awards, five third place awards, two second place awards and 11 first place awards.

“We’re doing really well in DECA this year, and I’m very happy with how it’s going,”  co-vice president Sean Li said.

Their next competition is at the state level, which will be held at the Rosemont Center from March 12-13.

“Our goal for state is to qualify as many people for nationals as possible,” Li said. “Last year we had a record number, so we’re confident about that.”

DECA is a business oriented club that offers a variety of different written and role play events related to finance, marketing, tourism and more.
