Central transitions to SchooLinks

While many students have already acquainted themselves with Naviance, a college and career planning website, Naperville Central will be transitioning to Schoolinks for course planning and college and career help in the future.

On September 25, students went to the Learning Commons during their science classes to orient themselves with the new program.  Freshmen went through this process during their LINK classes. During the orientation, students watched a short video, then took a survey, which, based on how the student responded, displayed different potential career paths fit for students.

Schoolinks will also be used for course planning, replacing Infinite Campus in that regard. Students watched a video during their third period on November 20 on how to register for courses with Schoolinks. Current juniors are to input their course plans for next year by January 14, sophomores by January 8, and freshmen by January 22.

Some students do not like the new program.

“Schoolinks is really confusing [and] pretty lengthy,” junior Jiawei Chen said.

The College and Career Center provided assistance to students who had trouble with Schoolinks course registration last week.
