Naperville restaurant hosts journalism fundraiser

To help offset the expenses of traveling to Orlando for this year’s fall national scholastic journalism convention, members of Naperville Central’s Flight yearbook and Central Times newspaper staffs will be encouraging family members and friends to eat stir-fry this Thursday evening.Mongolian fundraiser

The fundraising event will take place at bd’s Mongolian Grill from 5-8 p.m. on Oct. 22. The restaurant will donate a portion of the cost of each meal purchased during these hours for each diner who mentions the Naperville Central journalism programs. No additional purchases are necessary.

In addition, the faculty advisers of both publications will take turns around bd Mongolian’s giant, 7-foot grill, which operates at approximately 600 degrees, according to the company’s website. Yearbook advisers Rachel Brodeur and Sarah Albiniak and newspaper advisers Keith Carlson and Taryen Polykandriotis will each serve as “guest grillers” during the 3-hour event.

Diners who attend the fundraiser will also have the opportunity to sign up for home delivery of the Central Times and learn more about how to support both award-winning journalism programs.

bd’s Mongolian Grill is a casual chain restaurant offering create-your-own stir-fry bowls. The restaurant is located at 221 South Washington.
