On the week of Dec.8 through Dec. 12, Naperville Central students arrived to find kind notes on their lockers. This is part of (Be)3’s anti-bullying campaign.IMG_5239

According to Pete Flaherty, Dean of Students and an adviser of (Be)3, the goal of the “Positive Post-Its,” as (Be)3 calls them, is to “promote positivity.”

“Last Wednesday during the late arrival, teachers were given the prompt of ‘Have the students write something positive to their peers on a Post-It,’” Flaherty said. “Every day [these] Post-Its were hosted by different locker sections around the building.”

(Be)3 originally got the idea for doing the Positive Post-Its from seeing others schools do it on the news.

According to Flaherty, (Be)3 has been ready to start the Positive Post-Its since September, but has been waiting for the right time. They finally decided to do the Positive Post-Its on the week of Dec. 8 through Dec. 13 for two reasons.

That, coupled with the purple out for Friday’s basketball game against Naperville North, gave (Be)3 the opportunity to spread extra kindness to the Central community.

It seems that the Positive Post-Its was successful in creating an atmosphere of compassion

“[After getting a not on my locker,] I was in a positive mood all day,” Sophomore Amanda Thompson said.
