Congressional representative for Illinois’ 11th Congressional District gave Central students the following message  in an interview on Election Day, Tuesday, November 6, shortly after his victory.

“I’m just so excited to be the representative here. The issues that your generation are going to face are as complex as any generation in our nation’s history. You have to think very carefully about the long-term. Choose your major in college very carefully. Go to college. Period. I guess my final piece of advice to anyone your age is to take all the mathematics courses you can possibly tolerate and then take one more to make sure you’ve really hit the wall. There’s something about the logic of the mathematics that stays with you long after the details have been forgotten.”
