Beth Szymanski has recently become a new support analyst at NCHS. Although she recently came to Central, she has been living in Naperville for 22 years.

“She just transferred this year from the elementary schools,” says Mary Szymanski, who is currently a sophomore at NCHS and Szymanski’s daughter. “She started to be a support analyst here at Central. We didn’t move, [she] transferred.”

However, this isn’t Szymanski’s first experience with this kind of job.

“Prior to being in high school, I was a support analyst in the elementary schools: at Elmwood, Kingsley, and Naper,” said Szymanski. “Prior to that, I was a computer support associate just at Kingsley.”

She majored in computer programming in college, and later worked as a computer programmer for United Airlines. She took a break from work, staying home and raising her kids for 13 years.

Even though it’s her first couple months on the job, Szymanski already seems to be comfortable at Central. Her favorite part at Central is helping people.

“If teachers have problems with their laptops and they’re afraid they’ve lost all their data, I get to fix it so they don’t lose anything,” Szymanski said. “It always feels good to help people.”

But the thing she enjoys the most at Central is being with her daughters.

“I walk the halls, and I hear ‘Hey Mrs. Szymanski’ or ‘Hey Mom’ even if it’s not my kids,” Szymanski said. “ I have a lot more daughters now in high school, which is always fun.”

Even Mary agrees that her mom has fit in well.

“All my friends love her,” Mary said. “Everyone just pops in and says hi.”

It’s great to hear her adjusting to NCHS. Welcome Mrs. Szymanski!
