Q: What made you want to be a teacher here at Central?

A: What made me want to be a teacher is that I love math so much and I also love working with high school kids. It’s a very interesting time of life; I know you guys are going through a lot. I just have a big passion for this age group. I worked a lot with mentoring high school kids when I was in college, so I decided to combine my two loves, my passion for high school and my love of math. These combined perfectly with being a math teacher.

Q: What did you do before you taught at Central?

A: Before I taught at Central I was a math major at Wheaton College and then I got my masters.  Before that I went into finance. I worked in Chicago at a finance company, and didn’t love it so I decided to go back and get my masters in secondary education at Wheaton College as well.

Q: What sports/activities did you do in high school?

A: I did lots of sports in high school. Basketball and soccer were my main ones and I also did cross country and tennis; a couple years each for all of those sports. Then I did all possible clubs I could fit: Pep club,  Spanish Honors Society, the math team and National Honors Society. I did lots of fun clubs, a lot of random things.

Q: If you got in trouble in class what would it be for?

A: I didn’t get in trouble often. If I did it would probably be for eating. I wasn’t a big talker. I tried to listen to the teachers for the most point, but sometimes I would eat or chew gum when I wasn’t supposed to.

Q: Fun fact? 

A: I would love to climb Mt. Everest. I’m really into the outdoors,  so climbing Mt. Everest is one of my goals. Also, I would do math problems all day if somebody would let me do that. I love math that much.
