Senior Jake Kolar tattoos rock idol Bruce Springsteen

“I’ve got your name written here in a rose tattoo,” Bruce Springsteen sings in the Dropkick Murphys’ song “Rose Tattoo.” While Springsteen sings of having someone’s name tattooed on himself, senior Jake Kolar is singing a similar tune.

On March 18, Kolar got a tattoo of Bruce Springsteen’s portrait with an inscription of the singer’s last name under the image. While most people would probably think of art in the form of music, paintings or stories, Kolar thinks otherwise.

“Tattoos are a piece of art,” Kolar said. “I can connect every part of my life to a Springsteen song. He is the greatest American rock artist ever, and his music brings back good memories.”

It seems as though Springsteen’s supposed “Rose Tattoo” may have to take a backseat to Kolar’s inked artwork.
